Grand Marnier Experiment
DISTILLING
Undertaking the task of crafting my own Grand Marnier, I began by creating a fresh batch of Brandy from my recent alcohol production.
To infuse the Brandy with a citrusy flavor, I added the peel of two homegrown mandarins and one lemon to a jar, along with a measured amount of sugar. To further enhance the flavor profile, I included an orange, which is currently suspended halfway in the Brandy.
In order to extract the oils from the orange and infuse them into the Brandy, I will allow the mixture to sit and infuse for a period of time, shaking the jar several times a day. While I am eager to sample the results of my efforts, patience is key in this process. Stay tuned for updates on the progress of my homemade Grand Marnier.
